Course fees

Funding is available to help you train to teach. Successful applicants, if eligible, can apply for the full tuition fee loan, plus a maintenance loan from Student Finance England. This means you can cover your teacher training tuition (course) fees, without having to pay anything up front. You can apply for:

• a tuition fee loan of £9,250 for PGCE with QTS
• a tuition fee loan of £8625 for QTS only
• a maintenance loan of up to £12,667 to help with living costs

You can still apply for a tuition fee and a maintenance loan if you already have a student loan, and regardless of whether you get a teaching bursary or scholarship.

You will only have to make loan repayments once you’re earning.
